Happy Labor Day Everyone! Today marks the non – official end of summer and I spent the last few days visiting Virginia Beach with my family trying to soak up the last few days of summer weather. The drive from New York to Virginia Beach is long! Seven hours and that includes seventeen miles of scary on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnels and I think the longest bridge I have ever been on. I did none of the driving of course and this was actually my third trip to Virginia. There were a few boats on the sea and the kids thought the bridge was “awesome” and “spectacular” but I was glad when we were finally back on dry land.
My kids go back to school this Thursday so I needed these few days spent relaxing and enjoying fried ice cream on the beach (yep you heard right) but they ended much too quickly. My girls got matching henna tattoos and my son had a blast digging in the sand. We got back to New York about an hour ago and although Labor Day is about parties and fun, I can tell you one thing. I am in serious need of a vacation from this vacation!
